Our history

The company Tambellini ( the family was already involved in wood working in the 1700’s) started around 1800 when the uncle of Francesco Tambellini opened a small workshop in  Guamo.

At the age of 15 Francesco, after having been an apprentice with master craftsman and showing a particular capacity, took the workshop over from his uncle. Those were hard times, and deliveries were made by ox and cart, the war was upon Itlay and Francesco tried to satisfy demanding customers . Once  the war was over Francesco could give free run to his  great capacity creating in time what is today the company Tambellini mobile” which is now directed by 2 of his grandchildren Alberto and Stefania.

Thanks to the experience handed over by their grandfather Alberto and Stefania  have specialised , applying different techniques, not only in in furniture based on the traditional  style from Lucca , -like the typical pattona lucchese a chair made famous by the local artisans throughout history- , but also in contemporary furniture.

Tables, wardrobes, beds, bookcases, kitchens can be realised in very different styles and with precious wood essences like walnut, cherry, oak which are all being seasoned for years in voluminous piles for years in order to obtain the best yield.

The importance of the furniture and accessories made by Tambellini  Mobil has been recognised with various trophies such as the Oscar for Home Decoration at Florenceon the 24th of March 1979 and various editorials in professional magazines..
